Bio
It all started in Everett, Washington with coffee cans, cardboard, erector set (remember those?), and my sisters Beatles albums. Beating on pretend drum coffee cans with sticks, playing pretend guitars made out of cardboard (the body), and my erector set (the neck), and singing along to my sisters Beatles albums. That was the beginning of my love for rock music. I took guitar lessons when I was 10, (a Harmony Stella),and got my first electric guitar at 12, (a real cool fake Fender jaguar). I quit lessons, (I was a terrible student), and of course, started a couple of lousy bands with my friends (the girls at the junior high schools we played at thought we were hot). I listened to Mott the Hoople, Robin Trower, Jeff Beck, and a lot of southern rock through my Craig 8 track player in my chevy van.
After high school, I went to work and spent most of my money on high fidelity equipment and lots of records, while expanding my tastes with jazz, folk, blues, fusion, and alternative everything. I opened a record store (cds and tapes actually) in Snohomish, Washington, which I always dreamed of, and it was great until napster and file sharing killed it. I went back to a regular job and decided to go out and buy a brand new telecaster. It was so fun to play, and I played it a lot, and started writing songs. I started performing my songs at open mics, then in small bars for free beer, and finally playing around the Puget Sound area for money, while honing my songwriting skills.
I currently live with my wife on the south end of Whidbey Island, where I continue to write, record, and perform
